Kyiv/26.02.22 Ukraine calls on the International Committee of the Red Cross to help with the removal of bodies of dead Russian soldiers to Russia.
According to UNIAN correspondent, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories Iryna Vereshchuk said this at a briefing.
“We ask the International Red Cross to help remove the bodies of Russian soldiers to the Russian Federation. This is thousands of bodies of occupants, this is a humanitarian need, and we ask to make sure that the bodies of Russian occupants leave the territory of Ukraine and go to the Russian Federation,” Vereshchuk stressed.
She added that the Russian Federation needs to know how many bodies of occupants are now lying on Ukrainian soil.
“Red Cross, do your best to solve this humanitarian problem,” Vereshchuk said.
As reported by UNIAN, in the morning today, February 26, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, said that 3.5 thousand Russian soldiers had been killed since the start of the war and less than 200 had been taken prisoner.
The Russian side has not yet commented on this appeal by official Kiev to the Red Cross.-0-
